ABOUT CFAA. Central Florida Aerospace Academy opened its doors in August 2008 on the Sun ‘N Fun and Aerospace Center for Excellence campus at Lakeland Linder International Airport.
Central Florida Aerospace Academy of Kathleen High School is a unique career and technical STEM public high school academy developed to provide students with an interest in aviation, aerospace, and engineering technologies an opportunity to participate in industry-related electives, earn industry certifications and licenses, and complete dual enrollment/advanced placement courses.
In addition to the rigorous academic courses, CFAA offers aeronautical instruction including flight training, aircraft maintenance and avionics, engineering, UAS operations, FAA Part 147 Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic courses, and boasts an impressive Air Force JROTC program. CFAA is proud to be recognized as a National Career Academy Coalition Model Academy School.
OUR MISSION. Through a combination of relevant academic experiences, collaboration with the local aerospace community, and an aviation focus, all students will engage in a rigorous college preparatory program that will maximize the potential for successful careers.
OUR VISION. The vision of the Central Florida Aerospace Academy is to promote the lifelong process of learning by challenging students with a rigorous curriculum and tailored hands-on experiences with special focus on science, technology, engineering, and math. The academy will respond to the needs of industry by placing emphasis on teamwork, individual achievement, skill development, creativity, and innovation, as well as critical thinking. As students are prepared to be productive and responsible members of the workforce, the academy will instill in them an appreciation for professionalism, ethical behavior, and an awareness of global opportunities, while developing self-worth, high expectations, and mutual respect among a diverse population of students and staff.
